The Penn Medicine, Chester County Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program combines the advantages of comprehensive, unopposed training within a 329-bed community hospital and the world class academics of the University of Pennsylvania. Formerly the Crozer Health Family Medicine Residency, our program blends more than 30 years of demonstrated excellence with the fresh vision and vast resources of a new sponsor. Our program emphasizes innovative clinical training with strong community connections and a supportive learning environment. Curriculum highlights include care of socially disadvantaged populations, sports medicine, lifestyle medicine and translating evidence-based medicine into clinical practice. Be challenged to reach your full potential. Train here, then thrive anywhere!

The Family Medicine Residency Program supports 27 residents including nine new interns each year. The Family Healthcare Centers serve a large, socially, and medically complex patient population including patients of all ages. At Chester County Hospital, residents take ownership of a busy family medicine inpatient service and training includes challenging critical care, medical, pediatric, and women's health cases. The program offers a diverse and experienced teaching faculty committed to excellence in medical education.

Since opening as Chester County’s first hospital in 1892, Chester County Hospital has been proud to support the health and well-being of the communities in Philadelphia’s western suburbs. Today, our patients continue to receive the same compassionate care that has defined us for more than a century—now enhanced by the cutting-edge research and medical breakthroughs of Penn Medicine.

The Program will serve and respond to the needs of our community to improve overall health quality by enhancing the outreach and services provided within the Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital region.

Specifically,

We, the faculty and residents of Penn Medicine, Chester County Hospital, dedicate ourselves to quality, evidenced-based patient care.

We are committed to caring for entire families, from family-centered maternity care for our youngest patients to geriatrics care for the eldest. We will serve as the patient-centered medical home for our patients and partner with them to help them take charge of their health. We know that patients can receive the best care when we align patient needs with the best available resources.

We pledge to be life-long learners. As faculty, we commit to preparing residents for a lifetime of learning and leadership. As residents, we dedicate ourselves to pursuing knowledge of all types, including didactic and practical experiences and research.

We know that the future of Family Medicine lies in the students who train with us. We will do our best to teach them in both inpatient and outpatient settings and will model the best of the specialty.

We recognize the value of all members of our team as colleagues and vow to support, respect, and educate one another and work toward our shared goal of excellent patient care.
