About Dr. Yildiz
Murat is a board-certified cardiac surgeon with clinical and academic experience in cardiovascular surgery and intensive care. After completing his training in Switzerland, he pursued a research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on advanced aortic surgery and surgical outcomes. His research interests include heritable thoracic aortic disease, valve-sparing root replacement, and innovations in organ preservation. He aims to combine clinical practice with translational research to improve patient outcomes in complex aortic and valvular surgery.

Dr. Yildiz research focuses on surgical outcomes in patients with aortic disease, particularly those with heritable thoracic aortic disorders. He has been involved in numerous multicenter projects across Europe and the United States. His work explores optimal surgical strategies in valve-sparing root replacement, the role of endovascular therapies in genetic aortopathy, and outcomes of redo aortic arch procedures. His contributions span all aspects of research including study design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation, and he regularly serves as a peer reviewer for leading cardiothoracic journals.
