The University of Pennsylvania Department of Surgery is proud to offer our residents the unique opportunity of receiving a PhD during their research years. We aim to educate the next generation's surgical scientist who will be provided with basic science graduate level education opportunities, and acquire the tools needed to lead independent basic and translational science research projects.
The PhD Program is fully funded through the Department of Surgery and residents have the opportunity to work with talented faculty in the Biomedical Graduate Studies Program.
