Longitudinal Learning Experience Details
Clinical Precepting All residents will precept at minimum 1 IPPE student; teaching certificate participants are required to precept 2 IPPE students
Continuing Education Presentation Residents will present an ACPE-accredited CE presentation at Penn Medicine Pharmacy Grand Rounds
Drug Monograph/Formulary Class Review Residents will complete at least one drug monograph or formulary class review
Drug Use Evaluation Residents will complete a drug use evaluation and present results as a poster at ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and/or Vizient Consortium Pharmacy Network Meeting
Error Reporting Residents will submit error reports every quarter
Pharmacy Newsletter Residents will be responsible for writing and editing the department newsletter
Research Project Residents will complete an IRB-approved research project and present results as a platform presentation at Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists Resident Research Conference
Staffing Residents will work an average of two shifts a weekend every 3 weeks + 2 holidays
Residents will work several weeklong weekday blocks throughout the year
Therapeutics Conference Residents will develop 4 presentations throughout the year
Elective Experience
Teaching Certificate at Philadelphia College of Pharmacy Residents have the option of participating in this program. The minimum requirements include 10 hours of didactic teaching certificate sessions, 15 hours (10 in class, 5 prep/grading) small group teaching sessions, 4-8 hours per month of feedback, reflections, portfolio development and meetings with preceptor.
