About Dr. Nitsche

Lindsay is an intern in the Integrated Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency program. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from SUNY Buffalo before attending the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. During medical school, Lindsay spent a year completing clinical research in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Her research interests include clinical outcomes following valvular surgery and pediatric cardiac surgery. She plans to pursue a career in academic cardiac surgery.

Research

While in medical school, Lindsay performed clinical and large-animal thoracic surgery research with Drs. Demmy and Yendamuri. She then elected to spend a year gaining clinical research experience under the guidance of Dr. Stephanie Fuller at CHOP. Recently, Lindsay’s research has focused on outcomes following pediatric valve surgery. She plans to remain engaged in clinical outcomes projects at CHOP and Penn while in residency.
