This paper identifies composite metrics that can be used to predict individuals with absent autonomic symptom (AS) recognition and defective glucose counterregulation during insulin-induced hypoglycemia.

This is a systematic review of the literature and an individual participant data analysis of multiple prospective cohorts to investigate the association between subclinical thyroid dysfunction and incident diabetes, including primary data from cohorts Anne works with (the Cardiovascular Health Study). Findings-- no association between subclinical thyroid dysfunction and incident diabetes

This review examines a trend in the field we are seeing as well at Penn Medicine with insulin deficient subtypes of type 2 diabetes being considered candidates for pancreas transplantation that had traditionally been limited to type 1 diabetes.

This review article summarizes what is known about the circadian rhythmicity of nutrient metabolism and discusses obesity as a circadian disease.

Brown adipose tissue (BAT) helps mammals survive in the cold (really important in hibernation!) by producing heat through burning of calories. This paper helps to elucidate the physiologic functions of transcriptiomal coregulator complexes.

JCI - α Cell dysfunction in islets from nondiabetic, glutamic acid decarboxylase autoantibody–positive individuals
This paper reports that α cell dysfunction was present during the early stages of islet autoimmunity at a time when β cell mass was still normal, raising important questions about the role of early α cell dysfunction in the progression of T1Diabetes.
