About Dr. Shanmugasundaram
Srinidhi is an integrated IR/DR resident at the University of Pennsylvania and is honored to serve as one of the Chief Residents for the 2025–2026 academic year. Srinidhi grew up in New Jersey and completed her M.D. at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Following medical school, she completed a general surgery internship at Mount Sinai in New York City.
She is currently a part of the Business and Innovation in Radiology track at Penn, with a focus on advancing patient-centered care through innovation and outreach.
Srinidhi has a strong interest in women’s health and is currently leading a uterine fibroid community outreach initiative aimed at improving education and access to minimally invasive treatment options.
She is also one of the leaders of the Women in Radiology group, where she works to promote mentorship and community among trainees. In addition to her clinical and outreach roles, she serves as a resident representative on the Program Evaluation Committee and has served as one of the Intro to Radiology (ITR) program leaders.
In her free time, Srinidhi enjoys ceramic sculpture, trying new art classes, cooking, and staying active outdoors.
