Penn Anesthesiology Residents Training

Mission

We train the next generation of academic anesthesiologists who combine outstanding clinical skills with compassion, curiosity, and a drive to advance our field. Our program gives residents the chance to gain in-depth experience across all facets of anesthesiology, from perioperative medicine to critical care and pain management, and beyond. We achieve this through close mentorship, hands-on learning, opportunities in research and teaching, and graduated autonomy. We prepare our graduates not only to deliver excellent patient care but also to lead as educators, innovators, and academic physicians.

Vision

To graduate anesthesiologists who set the standard for exceptional care, embrace continuous learning and improvement, inspire others to excel, take pride in our specialty, and ultimately shape the future of anesthesiology.
