Why I chose Penn Family Medicine for my residency: I chose Penn Family Medicine for its deep commitment to equitable, community-centered care in West Philadelphia. As someone passionate about community medicine, I was drawn to the program’s longstanding partnerships with organizations like Puentes de Salud, which reflect a shared mission of expanding access to care for Latinx and migrant patient populations. I am also deeply interested in LGBTQIA+ health and gender-affirming primary care, and I appreciate how strongly the program integrates these priorities into both clinical training and patient advocacy.
